He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cober and Inez Cober (Hamilton); and his siblings, William "Bud", Robert, Alfred, Lucille, Dorismae, Marry Ann and Donna.

He is survived by: his wife Helen Niemi Cober; his sons, Robert Cober (Tammy) and John Cober; his grandson William Cober; his sisters, Cheryl Cober and Bonnie Castle (Arnold); and his pet Sadie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
