He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elwood Fry and Esther Fry; his son Christopher Duane Fry; his niece Tracy Marie Fry; his wife Rosanne; his daughter-in-law Julie Fry of Mason; his daughter Katy; his son-in-law Matt Krysiak of Mason; his grandchildren, Evelyn, Nora Fry, Adrianna, Michael and Zackary Krysiak; his brother William; his sister-in-law Linda Fry of Boyne City; his brother Duane; his sister-in-law Karen Fry of Tecumseh; his sister Susan Litzenburger of Boyne City; and his brother-in-law Carl Parks of Bradenton, FL.

Walt cherished the connections he made at Mason First Presbyterian Church where he volunteered in the bell choir, ran the sound board for services and events and many other donations of his time.
