He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Kranz and Clarabelle Kranz (Beutler); his sons, Keith Kranz and Gerry Kranz; and his siblings, Walter Kranz Jr. and Dorothy Shaw.

He is survived by: his close friend Bonnie Jordan; his son Ronnie Kranz (Debbie); his daughter-in-law Joyce Kranz; his grandsons, Danny Kranz (Elizabeth) and Russell Kranz (Heather); and his sister Thelma Hines (Dick). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
