He was predeceased by: his parents, Elroy Hanks and Lois Hanks (Johnson). He is survived by: his children, Gramps, Beepa and Beepie; his wife Dawn Hanks (Sutliff); his children, Marcie Hanks Seavolt (Sean), Allison Hanks and Jerald Hanks (Andra Adams); his grandchildren, Tyler, Presley, Mitchell, Trever, Addison, Lily, Stella, Nolan and Rylan; his great grandchild Kennedy; his siblings, Jim, Deb Hanks (Bodell) and Jean Hanks Grinnell (Doug); his cousins, Gary, Sheila Page, Gordy and Kathie Hanks; and his siblings, Craig, Alice Sutliff, Denise Kolonich, Kenny and Diane Graham. He is also survived by bird watching, celebrating with friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lansing and/or Susan Mast ALS Foundation.
