With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Earl Leon Hawkins (Mason, Michigan), who passed away on October 7, 2021 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester L. Hawkins and Leapha A. Hawkins (Disbrow); his wife Cathy Hawkins (Rapp); and his children, Angel Hawkins, David Hawkins Jr. (Hawk Matthieu) and John Hawkins.

He is survived by: his children, Davelle Hawkins and Caleb Hawkins (Ashleigh Kretzinger); his grandchildren, Daniel Hawkins (Danielle), Destiny Hawkins (Eric), Emily Homrick, Connor, Sheamus Rapp and Heather Hawkins; his great grandchildren, Eric Rose Jr. and Legend Hawkins; and his niece Deb McMurphy. He is also survived by other great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the American Cancer Society or Wounded Warriors Project.

“Dad David was such a wonderful soul - I remember him going and getting Pizza and Movies for everyone (think was for Davelle's birthday) and he regularly found time even though he had lots of kids to talk with, he took his time to visit a spell.. I have often wondered how he was getting along. He will be missed by his family, my thoughts and prayers are with them. I send my love to all of you.”
