He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clarence Peebles and Nancy Peebles (Challacombe); his wife Elizabeth Brede (Betty); his sons, Walter (Amy) of Eaton Rapids, MI and Will of Cullowhee, NC; and his grandchildren, Anita and Carl. He was also cherished by four nieces and three nephews.
