It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy E Uthes of Marysville, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on August 26, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Uthes and Margaret Uthes; his grandson Joseph E Demeter (Little Joe); his daughter-in-law Mali Uthes; his nephew Jeff Dunlap; and his siblings, Bert Uthes, Walter Young, Olive Leonard and Virginia Mayo.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Gawne; his children, Lynda Demeter (Joe) and Jon Uthes; his niece Dawn Dunlap (Ron); his grandchildren, Jodi Walls, Jennifer Lovecchio, Melissa Trimble (William) and James Uthes; his great grandchildren, Jake, Justin Lovecchio, Destin Ferguson, Foster and Adela Walls; and also, Larry Cook, Honor Flight Guardian and Shannon English. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He had many duties including calling Bingo, which he did every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday until Covid prevented these activities.
Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.Memorials may be made to the Marysville United Methodist Church.
