She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Slayton and Velva Slayton; and her former husband Jack Lynn Nitzel. She is survived by: her husband Robert; her sons, Mark and Todd Nitzel (Dawn Houle); her stepchildren, Cindy Nicholas, Rob Nicholas (Cheri), Teri Smith, Diane Hill (Doug) and David Nicholas; her grandchildren, Jacalyn Nitzel (Brian Trombley) of Todd, Nitzel Jr. (Katie Bashore), Lydia, Gabby Nicholas, Neil Brusch (Alena) and Amanda Brusch; her great grandchildren, Zane Trombley, Broudy and Nolan Brusch; and her stepsister Sheila Payne. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
