He was predeceased by: his father Don Cruickshank; and his close friend Mickey. He is survived by: his wife Jill Stiehr; his children, Patrick (Shannon) and Kelley Cruickshank; his grandchildren, Jacob and Carly; his sister Nancy Badley (Richard); and his friend Thomas Meismer (Debbie).

The family prefers memorial contributions be made to McLaren Hospice or to the Port Huron Minor Hockey Association.
