He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Schneider and June Schneider; his children, Michael Stephens and Cathy Snodgrass; his siblings, John Schneider (Janet), Careen Schneider and David Schneider; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Emig and Jim Leitch.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Leaym Stephens; his children, Charles Schneider (Kim), Candice Hart (Dan), Anthony Stephens, Fredrick Stephens, Susan Stephens, Vince Stephens, Edward Stephens (Karen), Howard Stephens (Sharon) and Tracy Knaack (Mathew); his siblings, Suellen Emig, Edward Schneider (Melody), Linda Downing (John), Jane Dennis (Mark), Mary Leitch, Tom Schneider (Joy) and Jimmy Schneider (Sue); and his sister-in-law Beverly Schneider. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
