He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Prelwitz; his parents, Mildred Prelwitz and Kenneth Prelwitz; his brother Kerry Prelwitz; and his nephew Kevin Prelwitz.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa, Kirby Jr. Kirby and Barb; his children-in-law, Joe Newhouse and Traci Prelwitz; his siblings, Paul (Donna Prelwitz), Lynn Barkel, Vivian Prelwitz, Gayle (Randy Vaartjes) and Tammy (Rick DeJong); and his grandchildren, Jackson Kempker, Kendall Kempker, Hadley Newhouse, Kenneth Prelwitz and Samuel Prelwitz.
