He was predeceased by: his parents, Johanas Vanderploeg and Bertha Vanderploeg (Scholton); his former wife Colleen; his siblings, Jake Vanderploeg, Cornelius Vanderploeg, Gerald Vanderploeg, Alice Kraima, Shirley Knowlton, Alvin Vanderploeg, Josephine Vanderploeg, Henry Vanderploeg, Bonnie Earl and Simon Vanderploeg; and his pet Duke.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Vanderploeg, Joe Vanderploeg (Michelle Wells) and Darlene Wiborn; his grandchildren, Jon (Kelsey), April (Gabe) and Chelsea Charlie (Kyle); his great grandchildren, Harper, Kennedy and Brantley; and his sister Judi Oglesbee (David). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Home and Cremation Society (120 S Woodhams St, Plainwell, MI 49080). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
