He was predeceased by: his parents, Myron Avery and Bernice Avery (Katz). He is survived by: his children, Kelly Frever (Dan) of Marshall and Tyler Avery (Lisa) of Marshall; his grandchildren, Mitchell Avery, Audrey Myers, Halley Frever and Natalie Frever; his sister Corlinda Huffman (Alan) of Homer; and his nieces and nephews, Courtney Stoub (Brad) and James Huffman (Katherine).
