He was predeceased by: his parents, James Rio and Bertha Rio (Jacobsen); his sister Ginny Hunssinger; his brother-in-law Fred Hunssinger; his brother Jimmy Rio; and his niece Cherie Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Nelson; his children, Michael Rio and Julie Bishop (Steven); his grandson Jacob Bishop; his nephew Fred Hunssinger (Barb); and his nieces, Karen Bergstrom and Susan Schiefelbein.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services - Marshall (723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Family Bible Church (725 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068).
