He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter D. Cook and Mildred Davey Cook (Davey); his wife Ann Louise Blemberg Cook; his daughter Marilyn Ann Cook Kahl; his grandson Walter Kahl; and his brothers, Wayne Cook and Thomas Cook.

He is survived by: his children, Daniel Walter Cook (Marilyn Jean) and Margaret Cook Ellis (Jay) of Delray Beach, Florida; his son-in-law Robert Kahl; his granddaughters, April Kahl and Sarah Kahl Erickson (Lucas); his great grandchildren, Beau, Zane Nedeau, Aiden and Daniel Erickson; and his sister-in-law Judy Cook.
