It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marvin Richards Gibson of Marquette, Michigan, born in Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on February 27, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin H. Gibson and Ruth M. Gibson (Richards); his sister Ruth; and his brother-in-law Virgil Reinhardt. He is survived by: his wife Lois Ann Swenor; his son Scott Gibson (Jill) of Negaunee; his grandchildren, Jace Gibson and Kyra Gibson; and his pet Pepper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Richard Jopling Post 44 of the American Legion, was an Eagle Scout and a recipient of the St. George Award for making outstanding contributions to the spiritual development of Catholic youth in Scouting.
