He was predeceased by: his parents, Eino Makela and Laila Makela (Leek); his sister Salome; and his brother-in-law Aarne Holmio. He is survived by: his sister Susan Grimes (Dave) of Marquette. He is also survived by two nephews and a niece as well as several cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (555 Riverside Rd, Marquette, MI 49855). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
