He was predeceased by: his parents, Jens Klit and Thelma Klit (Skow); his wife Esther; and his sister Marie Hass. He is survived by: his daughters, Kathie Baker (Mike) of Sarasota, FL, Debbie Mattson (Mike) of Marquette and Kelly Greenleaf (Wayne) of Marquette; his grandchildren, Amy Burri (Adam), Michael Baker (Sara), Matt Baker (Brianna), Michele Cavin (Mark), Terri Lorens, Mikki Tiziani (Scott), Ken Mattson, Carrie Goodney (Jeff), Chelsea Greenleaf (Noelle) and David Greenleaf (Erika); and his brother Gerald Klit of Gladstone. He is also survived by 22 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
