David Raymond Thompson Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Raymond Thompson of Marquette, Michigan, who passed away on October 23, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Thompson and Cora Thompson (Barshaw); his former wife Gretchen Gregorich; his daughter Lori McGuggan; and his brother Michael Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Thompson; his children, Shelley Bal (Michael) of Marquette, Harold Robinson of Engadine and Amy Hyppolite (Gregg) of Wheaton, IL; his son-in-law Jay McGuggan of Chocolay Township; his grandchildren, Taylor Thompson, Andrew Lozo, McKenna Clymer (Tim), Jordan Bal (Roze), Nicole Bal, Olivia Hyppolite, Madison Piar and J. D. Piar; his great grandchildren, Gabby, Graysen, Lilly, Bryce, Rowen and Arabella; his siblings, Mary Kay Fletcher of Marquette and Wayne Thompson (Linda) of Marquette; and his sister-in-law Mary Mahaffey of Marquette. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A reception was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services (926 N 3rd St, Marquette, MI 49855).
