She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Niemi and Tellerva Niemi (Larson); her son Theodore "Ted" Valeski, Jr.; and her sisters, Jean Lawson, Mae Kassmann, Marlene King and Sherry Lusardi.
She is survived by: her husband Theodore Valeski; her children, Michael (Dawn), Ernest (Cherish) and Cindy Hellerstedt (Wayne); her daughter-in-law Michelle Valeski; her sister Violet Joseph (Larry); and her grandchildren, Adam, Aimee, Andrew, Alexander, Lucy, Joseph and Madeline. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home (901 Carpenter Ave, Iron Mountain, MI 49801). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the American Martyrs Catholic Church (908 W Sagola Ave, Kingsford, MI 49802).
