He was predeceased by: his parents, John Long and Lillian Long; and his brother-in-law Chester Bergers. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn J. Long (Bergers); his children, Linda Sweet, Brian Long (Lisa) and Tammy Nederveld; his grandchildren, Steven Peterson, Stefani Peterson, Zachary Sweet (Holly Haight), Aaron Sweet, Joshua Long, Jonathan Long (Megan), Elizabeth Long, Gerrit Elzinga and Jessie Elzinga; his great grandchildren, Leo Peterson, Julian Verner, Carter Sweet, Lila Chrysler and Michael Long; his sister Lottie Katschor (Earl); and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Bergers (Deborah), Sharon Essington and Barbara Bergers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
