He was predeceased by: his son Karl Jr.; his father Gustav Thom; and his brother Bernie Thom. He is survived by: his mother Irma Thom; his children, Josie Jacobs (Justin), Jared Thom (Tasha), Kyle Thom (Kathleen), Kurt Thom and Krissa Welshans (Brock); his grandchildren, Aubrey, Jaxon, Cale, Claire, Elliana, Levi, Carson and Jameson; and his sister Charlotte Brockway (Lyle). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
