He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ruchgy and Anne Ruchgy (Krasovec); his parents-in-law, Russell and Pauline Tyler; his brother Donald "Buzz" Ruchgy; his son Greg Ruchgy; and his grandsons, Cody and Hayden Chase Ruchgy.
He is survived by: his wife Karline Ruchgy; his children, Christina Dost (Mark), Joe Ruchgy (Cindy), Jeff Ruchgy (Penny) and Tyler Ruchgy; his grandchildren, Meggan Testin (Josh), Caitlin Langenkamp (Alex), Dustin Ruchgy, Darci Moore (Jaron), Rees Ruchgy (Danielle), Alex Ruchgy and Austyn Ruchgy; and his great grandchildren, Amelia Testin, Ezekiel Langenkamp, Maeva Langenkamp and Nora Moore. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
