George Richard Gruenberg Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Richard Gruenberg (Marion, Michigan), who passed away on January 2, 2021 at the age of 92. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of George Richard Gruenberg to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Gruenberg and Dora [Vanderwal] Gruenberg; and his brothers, Robert, Evert, Paul, Marv and Leon.
He is survived by: his brother Alvin; his sister-in-law Cora Jenema; his son Craig; his wife Judith; his grandchildren, Miliana Johnson, Jeremiah Gruenberg, Esther Jordan, Erin Ceddia, Rory Wirch, Beth Wirch and Anna Forcelle; and his great grandchildren, Ella, Jane, Donnie, Benjamin and Clara. He is also survived by his children and eventually grandchildren.
George was the center and source of music in every church he had ever been part of—Moddersville Reformed Church, the Falmouth Reformed Church, and last of all, Garfield Country Church where he played hymns on Sundays right up until the Covid 19 pandemic. He also played Thursday afternoon concerts at the Ardis Missaukee District Library for many years—again, until the pandemic—providing live music for a group of patrons who dearly loved him.
