He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Benchley and Mildred Benchley (Durkee); and his son Larry. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Mae Thomas of Hope; his children, Connie Banks of Marion, Joanne Jordan (Ricky) of Gaylord and Garry E. Benchley of New Port Richey, Florida; his grandchildren, Chad Banks (Sarah), Jacob Banks (Jamie), Grace Ambrus (Boris), Ryan Lucas (Shannon), Kristina Jordan and Joel Jordan; and his great grandchildren, Logan, Emily, Conner Lucas, Sylvie, Amelie Ambrus and Serena Banks.
