She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Brooks and Elizabeth Brooks; her siblings, Fritz, Ken and Beverly; and her son-in-law Jason Layne.
She is survived by: her husband James Cox; her daughters, Lisa Nelson (Bill), Barbie Hatherley (Steve) and Suzanne Layne; her grandchildren, James Nelson (Alfiya), Jacob Nelson (Corrinne), Rachel Cherdron (Florian), Billy Nelson, Luke Nelson, Katie Nelson, Blake Hatherley (Kelsey), Paige Hatherley (D. J. Gregory), Parker Hatherley, Chad Burton (Brad), Cecily Huston (Geoff), Haylee (Eric Dreyfus) and Gabriel Layne; and her great grandchildren, Jimmy, Vasily, Sofia, Leon, Pax, Kace, Freyja, Nora, Mia, Bennett, George, Malachi and Izzy. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family and numerous friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church (9455 Hilton Rd, Brighton, MI 48114). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
