He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Messina and Sadie Messina (Tartamella); and his brothers, Frank Messina and Anthony Messina. He is survived by: his sons, Steven Messina (Barbara) of Columbus Township and John Joseph Messina Jr. (Elizabeth) of Milford; his grandchildren, Natalie and Aviana; his former wife Karolyn Messina-Stewart; his sister-in-law Mary Messina of Fairhaven; and his half-sisters, Nadine Davis and Roseann Smith. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
