He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon L. Hammond and Joyce J. Hammond (Rohm). He is survived by: his children, Melanie Loree of Three Rivers, Tara Winters of Three Rivers and Phillip Hammond of Three Rivers; his siblings, Daleena Carper (Doug), Candi Jensen (Steve) and Scott Hammond; his stepchildren, Steven Shivley (Christine), Nichole Day and Laura Strohpaul; his grandchildren, Tamera, Destiny, Lyndel, Dalente, Tyana, Contessa, Madison, Tatum, Eric and Lilly; and his significant other Janelle Houser. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
