He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Jiles and Gloria Jiles (George); and his brother-in-law Louie Rich. He is survived by: his wife Ursula Jiles; his sons, Charles Schmehl (Melody) of Newberry, SC and Shawn Schmehl of Marcellus, MI; and his sister Pam Rich of Elkhart, IN. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren.
