It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Abigail Schten (Marcellus, Michigan), born in South Bend, Indiana, who passed away on February 11, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Daniel D. Schurtz and Donna V. Schurtz (Jones); her husband Arnold A. Schten; her grandchild, DC of Washington; her great-grandparents, Marcellus, G. W. Jones and Elder William Brewster; her brothers, Charles and James; her uncle Carroll B.; her aunt Mary Jones; her daughters, Sarah Essex (Carmi) and Kay McAdam (Ron); her grandchildren, Katy Essex and Henry Essex (Vicki); and her great grandchildren, Kamden Oomen and Elin Essex. She was also cherished by several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
The family asks that memorial contributions be directed to the Marcellus Band Boosters, PO Box 48, Marcellus MI 49067, to help with the purchase of new marching band uniforms.
