He was predeceased by: the mother of his children Julie Sheffer (Bird). He is survived by: his parents, Eugene Sheffer (Celia) and Carol Verhoeven (Donald); his children, Ricky, Justin and Kayleigh Sheffer; his grandchildren, Dakodah, Makayla, Jayden, Cameron, Alexis and Karson; his siblings, Randy Sheffer (Angela), Russell Sheffer (Becky) and Robin Stenberg (Rodney); his stepsiblings, Ray Murray (Shelley), Rick Murray (Shawn), Don Verhoeven (Rita), Mark Verhoeven (Tammy) and Julie Clements; and his nieces and nephews, Christopher Sheffer (Melissa), Jessica Wier (Matt), Derrick Sheffer (Dorothy), Desera Sheffer (Sean), Joshua Stenberg (Danielle) and Jared Stenberg (Carey).

Due to COVID restrictions a Celebration of Life will be held later.
