With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael Joseph Shorter of Maple City, Michigan, born in Traverse City, Michigan, who passed away on October 12, 2023 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Keith Shorter and Bernice Shorter (Couturier); his sisters, Linda April and Shari Leabo; and his siblings-in-law, Margaret Shorter and Felix Rice.
He is survived by: his wife Gertie; his daughter Deborah "Debbie" Shorter (Ken Kocevar); his grandchildren, Ashley Kocevar and Kenny Kocevar (Faith); his great grandchildren, Laya and Clayton Kocevar; his siblings, Jim Shorter, Diane Rice, Darlene Sheffer (John), Denny Shorter (Kathy) and Connie Frost; and his brothers-in-law, Ron April and Mike Leabo.
Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to St. Judes or Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
