It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Ann Van Hemert of Manitou Beach, Michigan, born in Grand Haven, Michigan, who passed away on October 8, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Robert Abraham; her husband David Lowell Van Hemert; her son-in-law Jack L. LaFollette; her sister Jeanne A. Kroes; and her siblings-in-law, Dr. Kenneth A. Van Hemert, John J. Van Hemert, Richard L. Thompson and Dr. Ruth E. Van Hemert.

She is survived by: her children, Brenda S. LaFollette of Onsted and Robert D. Van Hemert (Sheila) of Addison; her grandchildren, Troy D. LaFollette (Jody) of Dexter, Stephanie A. Van Hemert (Rick), Courtney L. Elston (Bradley) of Somerset, Jennifer M. Van Hemert (Dennis Rumrill) of Jackson and Nicole E. Van Hemert (Trevor Maynard) of Manitou Beach; her great grandchildren, Megan LaFollette, Tyler LaFollette, Brody Earley, Hailey Eicher, Maddie Elston and Grayson Elston; her sister Betty Cavallaro (Tony) of Eugene; and her siblings-in-law, Roger Kroes of Spring Lake, June Van Hemert of Muskegon and Muriel Thompson of Norton Shores. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hudson First United Methodist Church.
