She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Oliver and Izola Lackey (Evett); her spouse Jink Morgan Mayes; her former husband James B. Cooper; her siblings, Dewey, Edgar, Grady, Aileen, Opal, Thelma and Christene; and her granddaughter Karen Farr.

She is survived by: her son Raeford "R. B."; her siblings, George Lackey of Chattanooga, TN and Linda Phillips of Fort Payne, AL; and her grandchildren, Sheri Crossman (Phil), Sandy Anderson (Bob), Crystal Betancourt (Leonard), Jessica Collins (Howard), Mark Cooper (Karen), Neil Cooper (Heidi) and Brad Cooper (Becky). She is also survived by 10 children.

Memorial contributions in Lucille's name may be directed to the Schoolcraft County Historical Society.
