He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Helferich and Edith Helferich (Rogers); his brother Brian Helferich of Arcadia; his sister-in-law Cheryl Helferich of Arcadia; and his former wife Marilyn (Koon).
He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Dennis Helferich, Jr. (Deanna) of Altus, OK and Denise Mitchell of Detroit, MI; his stepchildren, Dwight Giese of Grand Rapids, MI and Esther Spanos (Toby) of Fort Wayne, IN; his sisters, Sue Wheeler (Bob) of Lansing, MI and Wanda McQuillen (Dale) of Manistee; and his nephews, Alex Helferich of Arcadia and Gabe Helferich of Benzonia. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
