He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Baker and Lillian Baker (Kiel); his wife Bertha; his children, Byron Baker (Kathy) of Illinois, Martin Baker of Mancelona, Merle Baker (Sharon) of Alba, Brenda Schlater of Eaton Rapids and David Baker of Alden; and his siblings, Bill, Roger, Donnie, Jim and Bertha. He was also cherished by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
