He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hamblin and Bessie Hamblin (Tomkins); and his siblings, Helen, Alouise, Phyllis, Beverly, Jim and Bob.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Lee; his children, Rae Ann Thompson (Burt) of Mancelona and James Hamblin (Chandra) of Westland; and his grandchildren, Cooper Thompson, Riley Hamblin, Izzy Thompson and Tommy Thompson.
