She was predeceased by: her parents, Philip VanAssche and Edna VanAssche (Rachow); her sister Marie (Carl); her husband Gary L. Surman; and her parents-in-law, Leonard and Beatrice Surman.
She is survived by: her family Roxanne Cottrell; her stepsons, David (Michelle) and Steven (Shannon); her grandchildren, Michelle Roberts (Aaron), Justin, Cory, Tyler Surman and Devon Iwanski; her great grandchildren, Elijah, Taryn, Leyah, Raylynn, Yella and Hadleigh; her siblings, Phyllis (late Tony), Philip (late Barbara) and Louise (late Gary); her sisters-in-law, Carol (Jerry) and Mary (Ron); her niece Diana; and also Steve Sandy. She is also survived by many extended family and friends.
