He is survived by: his wife Nery; his sons, Edward (Pam) and Ralph Araya (Marlene); and his siblings, Roberto Araya Lara (Fabiola Vega), Belén Araya Lara (Rodolfo Asch), Mario Araya Lara (Maria Teresa Ramírez), Rodolfo Araya Lara (Flor Vargas), Elizabeth Araya Lara (José Luis Méndez), Enrique Araya Lara (Maria Elena Oviedo), Ricardo Araya Lara (Yamileth Castillo) and Hernan Araya Lara (Eliza López). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
