He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Plaunt and Julia Plaunt (Anderson); his wife Arlene Mae Lemorie; his son Herbert N Plaunt II; his siblings, Viola Weinberg, Markus Plaunt and Marilyn Cole; and his brother-in-law Ed DeBord.

He is survived by: his son Steve Plaunt (Shannon Becker); his sister Loraine Bonter; and his sister-in-law Jeanette DeBord. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cheboygan County Humane Society.
