Robert Morris Obituary

Robert Morris, Sr. of Luther, MI passed away at home on January 30, 2023 in the loving care of family. He was 88 years old.

Bob was born on June 20, 1934 in South Bend, IN to Thomas and Rose Morris. He attended Washington High School where he met his wife of 66 years, Betty Jane (Steenbeke) Morris, who preceded him in death. Bob was also preceded in death by his older siblings Frank, Thomas, Mary, Stanley, and Stella of South Bend, IN; and his beloved sons Oscar and Robert Morris, Jr.

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. Together Bob and Betty raised their 3 children in Niles, MI and he worked at Uniroyal in Mishawaka, IN until he retired. Bob built his legacy on strong family values, a hard work ethic, his cheerful outlook on life, and never aging over 39 years old! He was especially proud of the acres that he and Betty bought as a 2nd home in Luther, MI where their family and friends hold countless memories.

Bob is survived by his children Roseanne Morris of South Bend, IN and Ann Morris of Plainfield, IN; his grandchildren Aaron (Ida) Morris, Mindy (Cory) Nicks, Jamie (Jeremy) Herring, Billy (Heather) Smith, Tara Lambert, Robert (Brooke) Morris; 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Bob will be missed most for his hospitality, sense of humor, lively stories, and example as a loving, dedicated and generous family man. We look forward to seeing you again in heaven.
