He was predeceased by: his parents, Reinhold F. Schmitt and Rosella K. Schmitt (Pillsbury). He is survived by: his wife Karen Schmitt of Lupton; his daughters, Ann M. Schmitt of Lupton, Vicki L. Lewis (Richard) of Marion Springs and Susan K. Tschiggfrey (Frank) of Lupton; his grandchildren, Andrew Berkobien (Melissa), Steven Berkobien, Amanda Stamper (Brandon) and Justin Lewis (Callie); his great grandchildren, Hailey, Ella, Aza, Eden, Josiah and Ezra; and his siblings, Katherine McCaffrey (Dennis), Charlotte Schwab (Larry) and George F. Schmitt. He is also survived by many nephews and cousins.
