She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel DuVall and Luella DuVall (Perry); her husband James H. Vance, Sr.; her son Samuel Vance; and her brothers, William and Clifton DuVall.

She is survived by: her children, James "Henry" Vance, Jr. (Rachael), LuAnn Vance and Vickie Vance (Chuck Carter). She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
