He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles N. Gardner and Hilda M. Gardner (Hiteshew); his son Charles K. Gardner; his siblings, Jack "Duke" Gardner and Catherine Stanifer; and his great grandchild Faith Elizabeth Hall.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Jacobs; and his children, Belinda Krell (Howard), James Gardner (Amy), Daniel Gardner (Jill), William Gardner and Mary Liske (David). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the church or Promedica Hospice.
