He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul L. Carlson and Dorothy M. Carlson (Hoffman); his grandson Owen Carlson; and his sisters-in-law, Justine and Linda Carlson.
He is survived by: his wife Hannah M. Denison (Cleary); his son Paul Carlson (Erika) of Rockford; his stepchildren, Christopher Denison (Lynda) of Grand Haven and Meredith VanVelzen of Fruitport; his grandchildren, Kinley, Molly Carlson, Mykayla, Taylor, Christopher Jr., Rebekah, Landon Denison and Emma VanVelzen; his siblings, Jerry Carlson of Hudson, Florida and Christine Miner (Alex Stigailo) of Pentwater; and his former wife Marjorie Christensen (Lance) of Scottville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
