He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Scheid and Dolores Scheid (Streng); his brothers, Greg Scheid and Leo Scheid; his father-in-law Robert Ballantyne; and his stepmother Rosie Scheid.
He is survived by: his wife Lorna J. Ballantyne; his children, Josh Lillie (Leslie) of Greenville, Matt Lillie (Christy) of Ann Arbor, Marie Perry (Quentin) of Ada and Andrea DiMuzio (Mike) of Milan; his grandchildren, Ike, Ian, Asher, Alexis, Emma, Lucas, Jacob, Anna, Ethan, Alexander, Izzi and Gwendolyn; his siblings, Carol Bozung (Tom) of Greenville, Connie Spry (Mike) of Greenville, Lewis Scheid (Gwendolyn) of Ontario Canada, Mike Scheid (Kim) of Ada, Jane Meyer (Ed) of Rockford, Geri Dickinson (Terry) of Orleans and Ron Scheid (Valeria) of Caledonia; and his mother-in-law Linda Ballantyne of Lowell.
