He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harvey H. Merklinger and Carolynn N. Merklinger (Walker) of Rockford; his parent-in-law Dee; his wife Dee Husted-Merklinger of Lowell; his stepchildren, Candace Shattuck (Joey) of Ionia and Michael Husted (Melody) of Ionia; his grandchildren, Shelby Meeuwsen (Jack Lilly) of Mulliken and Dennis Husted of Ionia; his great grandchild Owen Craig Lilly; his siblings, Charmaine Beimers (Glenn) of Lowell, Lorraine Bailey (Jeff) of Lowell, Belinda Case (Don) of Howard City and Mylena Rowe (David) of Jenison; and his siblings-in-law, Michael Fuller (Danna) of Ionia, Joe Fuller of Grand Rapids and Paula Dugger (Geno) of Georgia.
