She was predeceased by: her parents, Toivo Leppanen and Hilda Leppanen; her husband Alfred George Hakala; and her daughter Anne (John Schilling). She is survived by: her siblings, Albert Leppanen, Eleanor Leppanen and Evelyn Robertson; her children, Paul (Pamela Foreman) and Carole (Scott Heim); her grandchildren, Kylie, Jennifer and Jonathan; and her great grandchildren, Jordan and Jaelyn.
