He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Thomas and Maggie Thomas; his children, Linda Dawson (late Ronald) and David Thomas; and his sisters, Rachel Diggs (Jimmy) and Ruth Doxey (William).
He is survived by: his son Ernest Ray; his spouse Shirley; his son Gary Thomas (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Sandra Colburn (Sean), Danielle Thomas, Ryanne Fahnestock (Nicholas), Jaclynne Sulkowski (Randy) and Hunter Thomas; and his great grandchildren, Sydney Colburn, Matthew Sulkowski, Joshua Sulkowski, Malia Fahnestock, Carson Fahnestock, Oliver Sulkowski, Adalynn Fahnestock and Theodore Sulkowski.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Est Turowski Life Story Funeral Homes (30200 Five Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48154). The military honors was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Neely-Turowski Funeral Home (30200 Five Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48154).
