He was predeceased by: his parents, George Goethem and Margaret Van Goethem (Merwin); and his brothers, Dennis and Gary Van Goethem. He is survived by: his wife Helen M. Wetzel; his sons, David Van Goethem (Linda) of Novi and John Van Goethem (Kristina) of Fenton; his grandchildren, Abigail, Drew, Margaret and Sydney; and his brothers, Bob Van Goethem (Kathy) of Sterling Heights and Jerry Van Goethem (Debbi) of Macomb Township. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
